About the role
- Valstar Hotel is seeking a
- Cook Daily Worker
- to join our dynamic culinary team in Badung, Bali. This is a
- full-time position
based on-site at our hotel kitchen facilities. As a Cook Daily Worker, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by preparing high-quality meals with precision and passion. You will work alongside our head chefs and kitchen staff to maintain our standards of excellence whilst ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and timely service during all meal periods.
- Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and plate dishes according to established recipes, menus and chef specifications
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all health and sanitation regulations
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, seasoning and cooking of various ingredients
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure all dishes meet quality standards
- Work efficiently during service hours to meet guest orders and kitchen demands
- Stock and organise kitchen stations with necessary ingredients and equipment
- Support the head chef and senior kitchen staff with daily meal preparation and special events
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace and equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with inventory management and report on stock levels when required
- What we're looking for
- Proven experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment, ideally within a hotel or restaurant setting
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene practices and kitchen sanitation protocols
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, including standing for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques including grilling, frying, boiling and sautéing
- Attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality and timing standards
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings, as required
- Familiarity with International and Asian cuisines is preferred
- Culinary training or certification would be advantageous
