Reports to
The #1 rated hostel on Nusa Penida. We're not just a place to stay — we're the reason people extend their trip. We're looking for someone who wants to be a big part of why.
The Role
We need a creative, high-energy Events & Community Coordinator to own everything that makes this hostel the best on the island. You connect the brand with people and consistently delivery events that excite our market. You'll plan, promote, and deliver events — nightly, weekly, and monthly — while managing the teams that bring them to life. You'll be the person who comes up with the ideas
This is not a support role. You will have full ownership of the events calendar, the events team, the promotional output, and the guest experience around activities. You'll report directly to the owners, have real decision-making power, and be expected to move fast.
- If you're always thinking
- "what if we did..."
- and then actually doing it, this is your role.
- What You'll Do
- Events
- Own the nightly, weekly, and monthly events calendar — themed nights, live music, games, socials, and our legendary full moon parties
- Take ideas from concept to execution: research, pitch, plan, run, and review
- Handle all logistics — setup, teardown, supplies, sound, and timing
- Collect guest feedback after every event and use it to raise the bar
- Ideas & Promotion
- Develop new, exciting ideas to promote the hostel — you're not here to repeat the same thing every week
- Stay ahead of the competition — know what other venues on the island are doing and make sure we're doing it better
- Create event marketing — posters, social posts, WhatsApp announcements, in-hostel signage
- Brief
- creatives
- on what to capture so our events are documented and shared in a way that sells the vibe
- Guest Experience
- Shape the overall energy and atmosphere of the hostel, not just the structured events
- Be present in common areas — know the guests, understand what's landing and what's not
- If there's a gap in the guest experience, it's yours to fill
- Team Management
- Build, lead, and manage the team — recruit, onboard, schedule, brief, and hold accountable
- Run pre-event briefings so everyone knows their role
- Build a culture where the team take initiative and genuinely want to be involved
- Coordinate across departments (bar, reception) to ensure seamless execution
- Budget & Resources
- Manage the
- events budget
- plan spend, track costs, and deliver great events without overspending
- Source supplies and negotiate with local vendors
- Report regularly on spend vs. return to the owners
- Reporting
- Weekly updates to the owners — what happened, what worked, what's next
- Document event playbooks so successful events can be repeated consistently
- Flag issues early — don't let problems become surprises
- Deliverables & KPIs
- We want to capture the market through new and exciting ideas — not by copying what everyone else does. You'll be measured on:
- New event trials
- pitch and trial new concepts every month
- Guest attendance
- track turnout; we want numbers growing, not flat
- Guest feedback
- if guests aren't talking about it, it wasn't good enough
- Content output
- every event should generate usable content
- Repeat attendance & extended stays
- are guests staying longer because of what's coming up?
- Revenue impact
- great events should drive bar and F&B sales, not just vibes
- Team execution
- team briefed, prepared, and delivering on time
- Every week, The Penida Project should be doing something no other hostel on the island is doing. That's how we stay #1.
- What We're Looking For
- Event experience
- hostels, bars, festivals, or your own projects
- Ideas and execution
- you don't just brainstorm, you deliver
- Team leadership
- you've managed people and know how to get the best out of them
- Self-starter
- nobody chases you; you own it
- Social media awareness
- you know what good content looks like and can brief others to capture it
- Budget management
- you can plan and track spend
- Fluent English
- (spoken and written)
Bonus
- SE Asia hospitality experience · Canva/design skills · UGC or influencer experience · Bahasa Indonesia
