- Strong general engineering across modern TypeScript/React and Python
- Comfort with Postgres/SQL (raw SQL, no ORM)
- Genuine daily-driver fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) — agentic workflows, sub-agents, context management
- Strong critical judgment on AI-generated code — able to spot where a change that "passes every check" can still silently break invariants
- Enough English to discuss architecture and defend technical reasoning
- Experience with LLM/OCR pipelines, edge functions, or RLS/Postgres security (nice to have)
- Experience building for low-bandwidth/low-cost-device users (nice to have)
- Interest in education and serving underserved students (nice to have)
