- We are seeking an
- Instrumentation Engineer
- to join our Product Development team and support the development of our next-generation Carbonizer technology.
- This is a
- product development (R&D)
role, where you will be involved in researching, evaluating, testing, and integrating industrial instrumentation into new products rather than maintaining existing plant instrumentation.
You will work closely with our Electronics, Firmware, Mechanical, and Product Engineering teams to develop reliable industrial control systems for biomass processing equipment deployed across Indonesia and internationally.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, enjoys solving engineering problems, and is comfortable working both in the laboratory and on-site during equipment testing and commissioning.
- The position is based in
- Malang, East Java
- , with occasional travel to production facilities and customer sites for testing and commissioning activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and selection of industrial sensors and instrumentation for new product development.
- Research, test, and validate instrumentation technologies for industrial applications.
- Recommend suitable sensors and measurement solutions based on technical requirements, reliability, and cost.
- Support laboratory testing, prototype validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate closely with Electronics, Firmware, Mechanical, Operations, and Product teams throughout the product development process.
- Review supplier datasheets, evaluate new industrial components, and support technical procurement decisions.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), field testing, and technical investigations.
- Prepare technical documentation, testing reports, and engineering recommendations.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field from a reputable university.
Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation, automation, process control, industrial equipment, or related engineering fields.
- Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and process measurement principles.
- Experience working with industrial sensors and transmitters.
- Familiar with industrial communication interfaces such as
- 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, RS485/Modbus
- , and digital I/O.
- Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for product development, industrial technology, and sustainability.
- Willingness to travel for testing, commissioning, and customer support activities.
- Preferred Experience
- Experience with one or more of the following would be an advantage:
- Thermocouples and RTD temperature measurement
- Pressure, flow, and level instrumentation
- Industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU, HART)
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- PLC and HMI systems
- Calibration and instrumentation testing
- Industrial control panels
- Nice to Have
- Although not required, experience in the following areas would be considered a plus:
- Embedded systems development
- Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or Raspberry Pi
- Python programming
- Industrial IoT and remote monitoring
- Basic PCB troubleshooting
