IT Security Internship

Position Summary

The IT Security Intern supports the Information Security team in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company information systems. This role provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, security monitoring, vulnerability management, compliance activities, and security awareness initiatives.

• Job Responsibilities
• Assist in monitoring security alerts and events from SIEM, EDR, firewall, and IDS/IPS solutions.
• Support security incident investigation, documentation, and escalation activities.
• Participate in log analysis and threat monitoring to identify potential security risks.
• Assist in conducting vulnerability scans on servers, applications, and network devices.
• Track vulnerability remediation progress and maintain related documentation.
• Support information security audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
• Help maintain and update security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Assist in cybersecurity awareness programs, phishing simulations, and training initiatives.
• Support user access reviews and IT/security asset inventory management.
• Prepare security reports, dashboards, metrics, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), Windows, and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as threat detection, vulnerability management, and access control.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud security fundamentals (Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred).
• Exposure to security tools such as Microsoft Security solutions, SIEM platforms, or vulnerability scanners is an advantage.
• Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash are preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, and eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment.
