Position Summary
The Junior Accounting is responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations by ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and documented in accordance with the Company's accounting policies and procedures. This role assists in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end closing activities while ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Key Responsibilities
- Financial Transaction Processing
- Record daily financial transactions accurately into the accounting system.
- Verify invoices, receipts, and supporting documents before processing.
- Maintain complete and organized accounting documentation.
- Assist in preparing journal entries as assigned.
- Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices and ensure supporting documents are complete.
- Reconcile supplier statements and outstanding balances.
- Assist in preparing payment schedules.
- Accounts Receivable
- Monitor outstanding receivables.
- Assist in preparing customer invoices when required.
- Follow up discrepancies with relevant departments.
- Bank & Cash Reconciliation
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile petty cash balances.
- Investigate and report any discrepancies.
- General Ledger Support
- Assist in maintaining General Ledger accounts.
- Prepare supporting schedules for monthly closing.
- Ensure all transactions are properly classified.
- Month-End Closing
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare reconciliation schedules.
- Support financial report preparation.
- Inventory & Cost Control Support
- Assist with inventory reconciliation.
- Support stock variance analysis.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations regarding inventory discrepancies.
- Compliance
- Ensure accounting records comply with Company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Administrative Duties
- File accounting documents systematically.
- Prepare reports requested by management.
- Perform other accounting duties assigned by the Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager.
Qualifications
- Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience.
- Fresh graduates with internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills
- Understanding of accounting principles.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, basic formulas).
- Experience using accounting software is an advantage.
