About the role
- We are seeking an experienced
- Head of Sample Garment Department (Kepala Bagian Sample Garment)
- to join PT Gistex Garmen Indonesia in Bandung Regency, West Java. This is a
- full-time position
that plays a critical role in our garment manufacturing operations. As Head of Sample Garment, you will oversee the entire sample production process, ensuring quality, accuracy and timely delivery of sample garments for our clients. This position is fundamental to our ability to present high-quality prototypes and samples that meet client specifications and industry standards, directly impacting our reputation and business success.
- Key responsibilities
- Oversee the complete sample garment production process, from initial pattern development through to final quality inspection
- Manage and supervise the sample garment team, including pattern makers, cutters, sewers and quality control staff
- Ensure all sample garments meet client specifications, design requirements and quality standards
Coordinate closely with design, sales and production teams to understand client requirements and translate them into accurate sample prototypes
- Review technical specifications, sketches and construction details to ensure sample accuracy
- Conduct quality checks and inspections at various production stages to identify and rectify any issues
- Manage sample production timelines and ensure prompt delivery to clients
- Maintain accurate records of sample production, including specifications, materials used and modifications
- Implement and maintain best practices in pattern making and garment construction techniques
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on quality standards and production processes
- Manage sample department resources, including materials, tools and equipment
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding sample progress and any modifications required
- What we're looking for
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in garment sample production or pattern making within a manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to supervise and develop staff
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making and sample development processes
- Expert understanding of garment specifications, sizing systems and quality standards in the fashion and apparel industry
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and construction details
- Experience with various garment types and fabric materials
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple sample projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with internal teams and clients
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, informed decisions under pressure
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements in garment manufacturing
- Basic proficiency in English is advantageous for international client communication
