About the role
- We are seeking an experienced and passionate
- Massage Trainer
to join our vocational education institution in Denpasar, Bali. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality massage training to students seeking to develop professional skills in therapeutic and remedial massage techniques. You will play a crucial part in preparing students for careers in the wellness and hospitality industries, ensuring they gain both theoretical knowledge and practical competency. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' professional development whilst contributing to the growth of Bali's wellness sector.
Key responsibilities
Designing and delivering comprehensive massage training curricula covering a range of techniques including Swedish, Thai, deep tissue, and other therapeutic massage modalities
Conducting practical demonstrations and hands-on training sessions to ensure students develop proper technique, posture and client care skills
- Assessing student progress through practical examinations, assignments and ongoing performance evaluations
- Providing constructive feedback to students to support their development and help them overcome technical challenges
- Maintaining detailed records of student attendance, progress and achievement in accordance with institutional requirements
- Keeping abreast of current industry practices and updating course content to reflect evolving standards in massage therapy
- Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and professional development
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency in course delivery and quality assurance across the training programme
- Assisting with the recruitment, orientation and integration of new massage training staff as required
- What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a qualified massage therapist, with demonstrated expertise in delivering massage treatments across various modalities
- Recognised qualification or certification in massage therapy from an accredited training institution
- Proven experience in training or teaching massage techniques to adult learners in a vocational education setting
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the health and safety considerations relevant to massage therapy practice
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles
- Patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting students in achieving their professional goals
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Fluency in English; Indonesian language skills are desirable
- Current knowledge of local and international standards and best practices in vocational massage training
