We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead operations at our fish processing plant in Simalungun, North Sumatra.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Lead daily production operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Develop and execute production plans to consistently achieve production targets, maximize yield, and ensure on-time customer deliveries.
- Optimize manpower, equipment utilization, and production resources to maximize operational performance.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), labor productivity, manufacturing efficiency, and production costs.
- Collaborate closely with PPIC, Procurement, Engineering, QA/QC, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Food Safety & Quality
Ensure full compliance with food safety and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, BAP, and customer-specific requirements.
- Maintain compliance with export regulations, certification, and regulatory audits.
- Champion a strong food safety and quality culture across all production operations.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, increase yield, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing costs.
- Utilize operational data and KPIs to drive informed decision-making and continuous performance improvement.
- People Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop production supervisors and operational teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous learning.
- Drive employee engagement, capability development, and succession planning within the production organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Fisheries, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a Production Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Experience in seafood or fish processing is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of frozen food manufacturing, food safety systems, and exportoriented production.
Proven experience managing large, labor-intensive manufacturing operations with a workforce of more than 1,000 employees is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English is an advantage.
