Production Manager

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with established quality standards. This role leads the production team, manages production planning and resources, monitors operational performance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Manager also works closely with Quality Control, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Maintenance, and other departments to achieve production, cost, quality, and delivery targets.

• Key Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to achieve production volume, quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Develop and manage weekly and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.

Ensure all production processes comply with company standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food-safety requirements, occupational health and safety standards, and applicable government regulations.

• Monitor production output, efficiency, material usage, product yield, downtime, wastage, and other key performance indicators.
• Identify production issues, determine their root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the production team, including setting performance targets, allocating responsibilities, and conducting performance evaluations.

Ensure sufficient workforce, raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, and other resources are available to support the production plan.

• Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards before release.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.

Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime and ensure preventive maintenance is performed as scheduled.

Control production costs and implement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize the use of materials, labour, utilities, and equipment.

• Ensure production records, batch documentation, inventory usage, and operational reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Conduct regular production meetings and provide performance updates, operational reports, and improvement recommendations to management.
• Investigate production incidents, quality deviations, safety concerns, and customer complaints related to the production process.

Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, discipline, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the production department.

• Support new product development, production trials, process validation, and the commercial-scale launch of new products.
• Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and proper condition of all production areas and equipment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in production or manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.

• Experience in FMCG, food-processing, or related manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, process control, quality management, cost control, and continuous improvement.

Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, food-safety standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and applicable manufacturing regulations.

• Proven experience in managing, supervising, and developing a production team.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of preparing and analyzing production data and performance reports.
• Familiarity with ERP, inventory-management, or production-planning systems is an advantage.
• Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Target-oriented, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively under pressure.
• Willing to work at the production facility and follow operational or shift requirements when necessary.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken.
