This position is with one of Eterna’s international clients. You would be hired and supported by Eterna while working as an embedded member of the client’s engineering team, contributing to their product rather than to Eterna’s internal projects. We operate as a fully remote group across multiple time zones, where ownership, clear communication, and initiative are just as important as technical expertise.
The Role
We're looking for a React Developer / DevOps Engineer who enjoys both building modern web applications and ensuring they run reliably in production. In this role you would be employed by Eterna and work day to day as part of one of our client’s engineering teams, a fast-growing international business.
This is a true hybrid role with an approximately 50/50 split between software development and application operations. You'll work alongside the client’s engineering team to build React features while taking ownership of deployments, CI/CD, production monitoring, troubleshooting, database migrations, and operational improvements.
This is not an infrastructure-focused DevOps position. The client’s cloud infrastructure is managed by a dedicated IT team, allowing you to focus on keeping their applications healthy, reliable, and continuously improving.
Most of the foundational systems are already in place, so your focus will be on maintaining, optimizing, troubleshooting, and enhancing the client’s existing development and deployment workflows.
While the split flexes with priorities, we're looking for someone who treats both areas with equal ownership rather than viewing DevOps as secondary support. Candidates with particularly strong DevOps and production-operations experience are especially encouraged to apply.

- What You'll Do
- React Development
- Develop and maintain modern React applications and internal tools.
- Build new features based on product requirements.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Improve application performance and user experience.
- Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- DevOps & Application Operations
- Own application deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor production systems and respond to application issues.
- Troubleshoot deployment failures, production bugs, and performance problems.
- Perform database migrations and resolve data-related issues.
- Improve deployment automation and engineering workflows.
- Create and maintain runbooks and operational documentation.
- Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Act as a bridge between the development team and our third-party IT team on application-specific needs.
- Work closely with developers to improve release reliability and operational excellence.
- Help ensure the stability, availability, and performance of the client’s applications.
- What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience building applications with React.js.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience consuming REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of modern frontend development practices.
- Experience working with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Hands-on experience managing application deployments.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar.
- Experience using Docker in development or production environments.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Sentry, Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Comfortable performing database migrations and resolving data issues.
- Basic familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong written English communication skills.
- A reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work setup.
- Nice to Have
- Experience with Next.js.
- Experience using React Query, Redux, or Zustand.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Linux administration experience.
- Bash or Shell scripting.
- Experience supporting production SaaS applications.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced engineering environment.
