About the role
Ichthus School is seeking an experienced School Principal to lead academic excellence, school operations, teacher development, student wellbeing, and stakeholder engagement across the campus.
The School Principal will work closely with the Board of Directors and school leadership team to deliver the school’s strategic and operational objectives, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, support student development, and lead the school in alignment with Ichthus School’s educational ethos and values.
- This is a full-time position based in Jakarta.
- Key responsibilities
- Academic leadership and quality assurance
- Develop and oversee annual and semester academic programs, lesson plans, and curriculum implementation.
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor academic and non-academic student outcomes and support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and manage school accreditation activities and documentation.
- School operations and governance
- Lead daily school operations and ensure effective coordination across academic and support functions.
- Manage teacher rosters, attendance monitoring, school events, and operational schedules.
- Manage school budgets and monitor spending in line with approved plans and governance requirements.
- Support the Board of Directors in delivering strategic and operational objectives.
- People development and student wellbeing
- Lead, coach, and develop teachers and staff to strengthen teaching quality and professional performance.
- Plan and support in-house professional development programs, including English communication development where relevant.
- Promote student welfare, safety, personal development, and a hygienic learning environment.
- Support a respectful, inclusive, and values-based school community.
- Stakeholder and school community engagement
- Build effective relationships with students, parents, teachers, staffs, the Board of Directors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Lead internal and external school meetings and ensure clear communication of key decisions.
Collaborate with the marketing team to communicate the school’s educational programs and achievements while maintaining the integrity of the school’s academic positioning.
Requirements
- Master degree in Education, Educational Leadership, School Management, or a related field
- Experience leading academic programs, teacher development, student wellbeing, school operations, and accreditation.
- Experience working in an international and multicultural school environment.
- Strong understanding of curriculum planning, teaching quality assurance, safeguarding, student safety, and school governance.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills for working with teachers, parents, the Board of Directors, and international stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing, school events, and operational priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Eligible to work in Indonesia or willing to obtain the required work authorization, subject to applicable regulations.
