Role Description

This contract role is for an Mandarin-English interpreter. As an interpreter, one will be expected to facilitate communication between Mandarin and English speaking individuals and organizations. Daily activities include interpretation of conversations, public speaking, simultaneous interpretation, and written translation, as well as cultural mediation, language proficiency, and terminology expertise. The job is remote and requires flexibility in work hours.

Role

Language Interpreter (WFH Role) - Part time

Working hours

Permanently night shift (20 hours per week - 4 hours/day)

Working days

5 working days, 2 off days || Night Shift (between 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM)

Salary Package

• RM30/hour || RM 2,400/month

Responsibilities

• Acting as Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos and personalities.
• Providing parties with clear and exact translations of written materials, and interpretations of verbal communication.
• Providing interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations and other forms of verbal communication.
• Completion of daily activity logs and other documentation.
• Complying with applicable ethics and standards

Qualifications

• Fluent in English & Mandarin
• Need a stable & strong WIFI connection
• Have your own mobile phone: Android 13 or above; IOS 16 or above
• Have a laptop/PC
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to work remotely and independently
• Professional certification or degree in interpretation or related field is a plus
