The company is strengthening its finance leadership team to ensure robust financial controls, operational efficiency, and alignment between Business Unit operations and corporate finance standards.
Job Role
The Business Unit Head of Finance is a senior operational finance leadership role responsible for overseeing the complete finance and accounting operations of a dedicated Business Unit.
The position will have end-to-end responsibility across financial accounting, tax compliance, treasury, working capital, sales finance, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal financial controls.
The role will serve as the primary finance partner to the Business Unit General Manager, providing financial visibility on business performance while ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Corporate HQ Finance policies.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 7–8 finance professionals and work closely with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Sales, and other corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the complete financial operations of the Business Unit, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), financial reporting, and month-end closing.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and Business Unit P&L reports.
- Manage financial accounting processes and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and corporate accounting policies.
- Oversee local tax compliance, including VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and other statutory tax obligations.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and maintain compliance with Indonesian tax regulations.
- Manage treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and local cash management.
- Monitor and optimize working capital, including cash flow, inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Partner with Sales teams to oversee customer credit limits, billing accuracy, accounts receivable collection, and sales finance reconciliations.
- Review distributor rebates, incentives, discounts, and other sales-related financial transactions.
- Develop and monitor Business Unit budgets in coordination with Corporate FP&A.
- Conduct budget-versus-actual analysis and identify significant cost and operational variances.
- Monitor inventory valuation, cost accounting, waste, spoilage, and other key financial indicators relevant to FMCG operations.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and audit requirements.
Act as the primary finance liaison between the Business Unit and Corporate HQ teams, including Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Transformation.
- Coordinate audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and financial control issues.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Business Unit General Manager to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Translate operational and commercial performance into clear financial analysis and business recommendations.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7–8 finance professionals, including workload allocation, performance management, and capability development.
- Establish a strong culture of accountability, accuracy, compliance, and financial discipline within the Business Unit.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports, management reports, and other required financial information to Corporate HQ.
- Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Professional certifications such as Brevet A/B/C, CPA, CA, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience at Department Head, Finance Manager, or equivalent leadership level.
- Experience within FMCG, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, or other operationally intensive industries is highly preferred.
Strong hands-on experience across core finance functions, including GL, AP, AR, financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury, cash flow, and sales finance.
Proven experience managing finance operations within a Business Unit, manufacturing site, distribution operation, or other operational environment.
- Experience leading and managing a team of approximately 5–8 or more finance professionals.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian accounting standards (PSAK) and applicable Indonesian tax regulations.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, month-end closing, P&L management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Accurate, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of working capital management, cash flow forecasting, credit control, and accounts receivable management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with Business Unit General Managers, Sales, Operations, and Corporate Finance teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect operational activities with financial performance.
- Professional fluency in business English, both written and spoken, for communication with Corporate HQ and senior management.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and financial discipline.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple finance priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
