About the role
- Arka Group - Lifestyle is seeking a talented
- Chef De Partie Western
to join our culinary team. This is a full-time position based in South Jakarta, Jakarta. As a Chef De Partie Western, you will be responsible for managing a specific section of our kitchen, overseeing food preparation, maintaining quality standards, and leading a section team to deliver exceptional Western cuisine to our guests. This role is critical to our operational success and directly impacts the dining experience we provide to our clientele.
- Key responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Prepare and cook Western cuisine dishes according to established recipes, plating standards and presentation guidelines
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with local health regulations
- Train, mentor and supervise junior chefs and kitchen staff working within your section
- Control food costs and portion sizes within your section to maximise profitability
- Manage inventory and requisition supplies for your section as needed
- Collaborate with other Chef De Partie and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations
- Monitor food quality and consistency throughout service periods
- Adapt to special dietary requirements and guest preferences whilst maintaining dish integrity
- Report to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager on section performance and staff matters
- What we're looking for
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a Chef De Partie or similar supervisory role
- Strong expertise in Western cuisine preparation and cooking techniques
- Thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and kitchen safety protocols
- Proven leadership and team management abilities with experience training junior staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure during peak service times whilst maintaining quality standards
- Culinary certification or formal training in hospitality is preferred
- Proficiency in English is beneficial for communication with diverse teams and guests
- Creative mindset with the ability to suggest menu improvements and new dishes
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
