Data Center - Structure/Civil Engineer (Design & Construction)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of civil and structural engineering works
• for greenfield and brownfield data center projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design calculations for reinforced concrete,
• structural steel, masonry, and other structural systems in accordance with applicable
• codes and project requirements.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, design reports, drawings,
• specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external consultants, contractors, and
• vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of structural design packages.
• Review structural designs and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with
• company standards, client requirements, and applicable local regulations.
• Support the resolution of technical design issues and provide engineering solutions
• throughout the design and construction phases.
• Provide technical support during construction, including responding to Requests for
• Information (RFIs), reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and resolving site-
• related engineering issues.
• Attend design coordination meetings, site inspections, construction progress
• meetings, testing, and commissioning activities as required.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces, including architectural,
• electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, and utilities disciplines.
• Support budget estimation, value engineering, and constructability reviews to
• optimize project cost without compromising quality, safety, or reliability.
• Monitor assigned engineering activities to ensure deliverables are completed within
• agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, design records, and project files in
• accordance with company procedures.
• Assist in mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance to support
• team development.
• Support liaison activities with clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant
• government authorities to facilitate design reviews, approvals, and project
• execution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, building codes, statutory
• regulations, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline AND/OR Evidence of
• Exceptional ability for the role.
• At least 5 years of specialization structural design experience in data center design
• and/or construction.
• Familiar with data center design requirements, including equipment loading, raised
• floor systems, equipment foundations, cable trenches, utility structures, and building
• resilience.
• Experience supporting construction activities, reviewing shop drawings, responding
• to RFIs, and resolving site engineering issues.
