Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, monitor, and successfully deliver shipping and barging projects in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures, timelines, resource allocation, risk registers, and communication plans.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including operations, technical, marine, procurement, finance, and HSE personnel, to ensure timely project execution.
Lead the implementation of digital tools and systems for vessel management, including fuel monitoring systems, PMS, preventive maintenance platforms, and crew management databases.
Work closely with vessel owners, shipyards, contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure projects are completed efficiently while maintaining cost and quality standards.
Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively resolve issues that may impact project delivery, operational continuity, or stakeholder expectations.
Coordinate vessel maintenance, repairs, dry docking, and technical improvement projects to ensure vessels remain operational, safe, and compliant.
Monitor project performance related to fuel efficiency, maintenance schedules, turnaround time, cost control, and operational effectiveness.
Ensure all project activities comply with applicable local, national, and international maritime regulations, flag state requirements, class requirements, environmental standards, and company policies.
Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, vessel owners, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
Support procurement activities by coordinating vendor selection, contract administration, delivery schedules, and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including project schedules, technical records, change requests, meeting minutes, risk registers, and project close-out reports.
Monitor project milestones and deliverables, ensuring all work is completed according to agreed specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and the adoption of innovative technologies that enhance vessel management and project execution.
Coordinate project-related inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure successful project completion.
Foster strong collaboration across project teams by promoting accountability, effective communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Prepare project status reports, financial updates, and performance summaries for senior management and key stakeholders.
Support business development initiatives by providing technical and project management input during proposal development, feasibility studies, and project planning.
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the maritime and logistics industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within shipping and barging operations.
Able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, especially in a multicultural environment like Indonesia, and effectively communicate across geographies.
