About the role
- We are seeking a
- Helper Hull Engineer Production Shipyard
to join Shipyard in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial supporting role within our shipyard production operations. As a Helper Hull Engineer, you will work alongside senior hull engineers to support the design, construction, and assembly of ship hulls.
- What you'll be doing
- Assist senior hull engineers in the planning, design, and layout of hull structures for various vessel types
- Support the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
- Monitor and assist with hull assembly and welding operations on the shipyard floor
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on hull components and completed sections in accordance with maritime standards
- Assist in the measurement and verification of hull dimensions and structural alignment
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving for hull-related production challenges
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation for hull assembly processes
- Liaise between engineering teams, production crews, and quality assurance departments
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the shipyard site
- What we're looking for
- Qualification in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related engineering discipline
- Previous experience working in a shipyard or maritime construction environment
- Working knowledge of ship hull design, construction methods, and maritime engineering principles
- Proficiency in technical drawing and CAD software (such as AutoCAD or specialist marine design software)
- Strong understanding of welding processes, structural fabrication, and quality standards
- Familiarity with international maritime standards and classification society requirements (such as IMO, DNV, ABS, or Lloyd's Register)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision measurements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse departments
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a shipyard environment
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
