Role Description

The International Business Development Intern will support day-to-day activities related to identifying and engaging potential international buyers and suppliers, with a focus on markets served by Planten Global Indonesia. This internship is a hybrid role based in Surabaya, with some work-from-home flexibility. Typical responsibilities include assisting with market research, preparing reports and presentations on potential trade opportunities, supporting buyer–supplier matching processes, and maintaining accurate records in CRM or tracking tools. The intern will help coordinate communication with partners, draft professional emails and proposals, and provide support for online and offline meetings. The role also involves collaborating with the business development team on sales outreach, monitoring industry trends, and contributing to strategy discussions to expand international business networks.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in International Business Development and International Business to support cross-border trade activities and partnership building.

Candidates should possess Market Research skills to analyze industries, target markets, competitors, and potential buyers or suppliers.

Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and international partners in a clear, professional manner.

• Candidates should possess Sales-related skills to assist with lead generation, outreach, and follow-up in business development initiatives.
• Relevant academic background in International Business, Economics, Management, or related fields is beneficial.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and comfort working in a multicultural environment are highly valued.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities, with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with MS Office or Google Workspace tools; prior experience with CRM or data management systems is a plus.
