Legal Officer – Gold Mining Project
About the Role
Provide legal and contractual support for the company's gold mining project.
Manage legal matters related to
- Mining regulations and mineral resources
- Commercial contracts
- Regulatory compliance
- Land matters
- Legal risk management
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support for gold mining and mineral resources activities.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage mining-related commercial and operational agreements, including:
- Mining services agreements
- Contractor and subcontractor agreements
- Equipment and machinery agreements
- Procurement and supply agreements
- Processing and treatment agreements
- Consultancy and professional service agreements
- Other mining-related commercial agreements
- Monitor and advise management on compliance with Indonesian mining and mineral resources laws and regulations.
Provide legal support for
- Mining licences and permits
- Regulatory approvals
- Government requirements
Advise on legal aspects of
- Mining operations
- Mineral processing
- Production
- Transportation
- Other mining-related activities
Review contractual risks, including
- Liabilities
- Indemnities
- Warranties
- Dispute resolution provisions
- Assist in managing contractual claims, disputes, and potential litigation involving contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Handle legal matters related to
- Land access and land use
- Environmental matters
- Agreements associated with mining operations
Coordinate with
- External legal counsel
- Notaries
- Government authorities
- Consultants
- Contractors
- Other relevant stakeholders
- Conduct legal research on developments in mining and mineral resources regulations and advise management on potential impacts.
Maintain proper records of
- Contracts
- Legal documents
- Licences and permits
- Other legal matters
- Identify legal and regulatory risks and provide practical recommendations to management.
- Support other legal and corporate matters related to the company's mining business as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (S.H.) from a reputable university.
- Minimum
- 6 years of legal experience
- specifically in the mining and/or mineral resources industry.
- Strong preference for candidates with
- direct gold mining experience
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian mining and mineral resources laws and regulations.
Proven experience in
- Drafting commercial contracts
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts
- Managing mining-related commercial agreements
- Experience handling legal, environmental, and regulatory matters related to mining operations and mineral resources.
- Strong understanding of mining permits, regulatory compliance, and government requirements.
- Experience handling contractual disputes, claims, and legal risks within the mining industry.
- Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Good command of
- Bahasa Indonesia and English
- , both written and spoken.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Able to work independently and provide practical, commercially oriented legal advice.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Direct legal experience in
- gold mining projects or gold mining companies
- Experience dealing with Indonesian mining regulators and government authorities.
