Network Specialist (Team Lead)

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Specialist to manage, maintain, and secure our network infrastructure while providing operational leadership technical support specialists. Reporting directly to the IT Security Operations Lead, you will be responsible for network design, installation, troubleshooting, and daily operations across on-premise environments, cloud networks (GCP, DigitalOcean), primary Data Centers (DC), and Data Recovery Centers (DRC) using platforms like MikroTik, BDCOM, and UniFi.

Our ideal candidate combines strong hands-on networking expertise with natural leadership abilities, robust security awareness, and experience maintaining high-availability infrastructure, failover, and redundancy between Data Centers and Data Recovery Centers.

• Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership & Supervision
• Directly supervise, mentor, and guide a team of 3 IT support and junior network technicians.
• Assign tickets, manage workloads, set performance goals, and conduct regular check-ins.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, connectivity problems, and network outages.
• Network Engineering, Security & Administration

Design, configure, deploy, and maintain core network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points (WAPs), and VPN gateways.

• Manage and optimize local network equipment including MikroTik routers, BDCOM switches, and UniFi wireless systems and controllers.
• Configure and maintain secure cloud network connections, VPNs, and infrastructure hosted on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and DigitalOcean.

Collaborate closely with the Security Operations team to enforce network access controls, firewall rules, VLAN segregation, and threat mitigation policies.

• Monitor network uptime, traffic, performance, and security across all office sites,
• DC, and DRC environments
• Data Center (DC) & Data Recovery Center (DRC) Operations

Oversee network connectivity, routing, and high-availability (HA) mechanisms between primary Data Centers (DC) and Data Recovery Centers (DRC).

Design, test, and maintain disaster recovery network failover policies to ensure business continuity during critical outages or recovery events.

• Manage structured cabling, rack management, power deployment considerations, and hardware maintenance in DC/DRC environments.
• Maintenance & Asset Management
• Conduct physical installation, rack mounting, cable management, and hardware maintenance (lifting equipment up to 20 kg).
• Manage network hardware assets, licensing, warranties, and firmware patch schedules across all networking gear.
• Maintain clear network topology documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and security incident logs.

• Required Skills & Experience
• Work Setup: Full-time on-site presence required at our Gading Serpong office.
• Leadership: Prior experience supervising, leading, or mentoring junior technical staff (ability to manage 3 direct reports).

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience with 3–5 years in network administration or engineering.

Data Center Experience: Hands-on experience working with Data Center (DC) and Data Recovery Center (DRC) infrastructure, including redundancy, failover protocols, and disaster recovery processes.

Networking Expertise: Advanced hands-on experience with routing/switching protocols, firewalls, and enterprise hardware—specifically MikroTik, BDCOM, and UniFi setups.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience managing cloud networking, firewall rules, VPCs, and routing in GCP and DigitalOcean.
• Travel: Ability and willingness to travel periodically between BSD and Jakarta for site setups, DC/DRC maintenance, or emergency response.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift, move, rack-mount, and configure hardware weighing up to 20 kg.
• Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications

Professional certifications such as MTCNA / MTCRE (MikroTik), CCNA / CCNP, CompTIA Network+, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, or security/data center credentials.

• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Zabbix) and identity infrastructure (Microsoft Entra).
• Basic understanding of SIEM logging, endpoint security, and network threat analysis.
