- Position Overview
The Plant Director is responsible for leading and managing the overall manufacturing operations of the plant, ensuring operational excellence, safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and sustainable business growth. The incumbent will drive world-class manufacturing practices through the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Management Systems, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs.
The Plant Director will provide strategic leadership to all plant functions including Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Planning, and HSE while fostering a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence and employee engagement.
- Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute plant operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Lead the plant organization to achieve world-class manufacturing standards in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Establish annual operating plans, budgets, KPIs, and performance targets.
- Build a strong leadership team and succession pipeline within the organization.
- Manufacturing Operations
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations to ensure achievement of production targets, customer requirements, and business objectives.
- Optimize production processes, resource utilization, and manufacturing capacity.
- Ensure efficient coordination among Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, Warehouse, and Supply Chain functions.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs including OEE, productivity, waste reduction, yield, and cost performance.
- TPM & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) implementation across the plant.
- Drive Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Early Equipment Management, and Quality Maintenance pillars.
- Establish a culture of Continuous Improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Champion digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives where applicable.
- Quality Management
- Ensure implementation and compliance with Quality Management Systems and customer requirements.
- Drive a zero-defect culture and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Improve customer satisfaction through product quality enhancement and process capability improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and relevant industry certifications.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all local regulations and company standards.
- Lead the development and execution of HSE strategies and programs.
- Drive initiatives to achieve zero lost-time accidents and world-class safety performance.
- Ensure environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives are effectively implemented.
- Lead risk assessment, incident investigations, and preventive action programs.
- Financial & Cost Management
- Manage plant budgets, CAPEX, OPEX, and operational expenditures.
- Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Monitor plant financial performance and ensure achievement of profitability targets.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and capital projects to improve operational capabilities.
- People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse manufacturing workforce.
- Foster employee engagement and high-performance culture.
- Strengthen organizational capability through training and talent development programs.
- Drive workforce productivity, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with corporate leadership, customers, suppliers, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Represent the plant in strategic business discussions and operational reviews.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- General Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing) or related discipline.
- Master's Degree (MBA or Engineering Management) is highly preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum 15–20 years of progressive experience within manufacturing environments.
Minimum 8–10 years in senior leadership roles such as Plant Manager, Operations Director, Manufacturing Director, Factory Director, or Plant Director.
- Proven track record in large-scale manufacturing operations within industries such as:
- Tire Manufacturing

- Demonstrated success in implementing and sustaining TPM programs.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, WCM, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
