About the Role
- Production Manager/Superintendent.
- Employment & Location
- This position is based at the Company's factory in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia.
The successful candidate will be required to reside in company-provided accommodation at the factory premises due to the operational requirements of the role.
This is a locally employed position and will be offered on local Indonesian employment terms and conditions.
Indicative salary: approximately IDR 15,000,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.
- Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large production workforce.
- Plan and manage production schedules and production resources.
Monitor production output and performance, including productivity, material usage, wastage, rejection/rework, labour efficiency and on-time completion.
- Identify operational problems promptly, determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Supervise production quality and ensure products are manufactured according to required specifications.
- Plan and coordinate production-related inventory and requirements, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods.
- Ensure proper control for materials used in production and minimise unnecessary material loss and wastage.
- Coordinate closely with other relevant departments such as Quality Control and EXIM, to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure machineries are properly utilised and coordinate preventive maintenance, breakdown response and repairs.
- Establish and implement production SOPs, work procedures, discipline and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, environmental and other applicable factory requirements.
Prepare accurate and timely production reports and provide management with clear updates on production performance, problems, risks and any recommended actions.
Support the implementation and improvement of production management software.
Work closely with management on production strategy, operational efficiency, cost control, factory improvement and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma. Candidates with strong relevant factory management experience may also be considered.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant manufacturing/production experience in a production manager/superintendent or equivalent position.
- Experience managing a large production workforce of approximately 300 or more production employees will be a strong advantage.
- Relevant experience in manufacturing of wood products.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, manpower and resource management, production control and quality management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage, motivate and maintain discipline across a large workforce.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to use email effectively for professional communication and reporting.
Familiar with production management software, including its use for production scheduling, material planning, WIP/inventory monitoring and production reporting.
Language Requirements
Good communication ability in Bahasa Indonesia / Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin Chinese and English is highly preferred, as the role will interact with local factory personnel, management and overseas business partners.
