QC Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1)

About the role

This is a Quality Control Inspector position specialising in piping and welding inspection. The role involves conducting visual, fit-up, and dimensional inspections on pipe materials, fittings, and structural components according to project specifications, and overseeing welding processes and post-weld inspections to ensure zero-defect outcomes and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

Conduct visual, fit-up, and dimensional inspections on pipe materials, fittings, and structural components according to project specifications

Perform direct supervision of welding in-process inspection and visual welding inspection

Coordinate with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) teams for testing execution (RT, UT, PT, MT) according to Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and evaluate test reports

Ensure all fabrication and installation processes comply with international standards (ASME, AWS, API) and technical drawings (Isometric Drawing and P&ID)

• Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports and complete Welding Data Sheet / Joint History Sheet documentation for handover dossier
• Ensure zero-defect results in welding and piping installation through strict quality control
• Collaborate proactively with production teams, field engineers, and Client or Third-Party Inspector (TPI) representatives
• Maintain full compliance with workplace safety standards (HSE) in project/workshop areas
• About you
• Active CSWIP 3.1 (Welding Inspector) certification
• required
• Minimum 3–5 years experience as QC Inspector in Piping and Welding in Construction, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fabrication Yard industries
• Minimum D3/S1 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Naval Engineering, or related field
• Proficient in reading Isometric Drawing and P&ID
• Understanding of international industry standards (ASME Sec. VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1)
