- QS MEP Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted works for construction projects.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets to ensure projects are delivered within approved financial targets.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates and maintain accurate project cost information throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage the full tender process from pre-tender through post-contract stages, including preparing tender documentation, evaluating quotations, and performing detailed price comparisons and cost analyses.
- Source and evaluate quotations from vendors, suppliers, specialists, and subcontractors.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and subcontract agreements to achieve competitive project costs.
- Participate in tender interviews, clarification meetings, and site visits with clients and consultants.
- Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer construction contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Handle progress claims, progress payments, variation orders, and final account settlements.
Review payment certifications and coordinate with consultants, architects, developers, contractors, and quantity surveyors regarding payment approvals.
- Monitor project expenditures against budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze project variations and assess their commercial impact.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative materials, construction methods, and value engineering without compromising quality.
- Maintain and standardize the Company's Schedule of Rates (SOR).
- Identify commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and manage claims arising from project changes or contractual issues.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and health & safety regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Develop an understanding of market pricing trends, supplier capabilities, and subcontractor performance.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor performance to support future procurement decisions.
- Review team deliverables and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of Quantity Surveying processes.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Willing to work 6 days.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related engineering discipline.
- Business level of English proficiency.
- At least 3 years as QS Manager, with 5 years of experience as Quantity Surveyor or Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) in Construction.
Proven experience managing hyperscale tender proposals and commercial activities, including cost estimation, contract administration, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
