Job Description
Plan, execute, and support end-to-end database migration projects, including infrastructure-level migrations across development, staging, and production environments.
Perform database migration, upgrade, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery activities while ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Install, configure, administer, monitor, and optimize Oracle and other relational database management systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
- Utilize Oracle migration tools such as
- XTTS (Cross-Platform Transportable Tablespaces)
- Oracle Data Pump

- Oracle Data Guard
- to support migration and high availability initiatives.
- Analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Manage database security, user access, storage allocation, and capacity planning based on business requirements.
- Develop and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, System, Application, and DevOps teams during migration planning, deployment, and post-migration validation.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide root cause analysis for production incidents.
- Prepare technical documentation, migration procedures, operational guides, and deployment reports.
- Participate in migration testing, performance validation, and production cutover activities.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, and recommendations with local and regional stakeholders in English.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum
- 3–5 years of experience
- as a Database Administrator (DBA), preferably in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience in
- database migration projects
- , including
- infrastructure-level migration
- , not limited to ETL or data transformation.
Strong hands-on experience administering multiple database platforms, including: Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Other enterprise RDBMS is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Oracle migration and high-availability technologies: Oracle XTTS (Cross-Platform Transportable Tablespaces), Oracle Data Pump (expdp/impdp), Oracle Data Guard
Strong understanding of: Database installation and configuration, Backup & Recovery (RMAN), Performance tuning and optimization, Database security and access management, High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Experience working on Linux/Unix server environments.
- Familiarity with shell scripting or automation is an advantage.
- Good understanding of database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
- Comfortable working in project-based environments with tight migration schedules.
