Job description for Devops Engineer at HRM Labs Indonesia
Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing infrastructure, automating deployments, monitoring system performance, and ensuring high availability of the HR application. The role involves close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline processes and optimize the CI/CD pipeline for a smooth release cycle.
Key Responsibilities
1). Infrastructure Management
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability for a high-availability HR application.
- Manage containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling.
2). CI/CD Pipeline
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automating deployments (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Ensure rapid and reliable code integration, testing, and deployment processes.
- Continuously improve the release process by automating manual tasks and integrating tools for monitoring and reporting.
3). Monitoring and Security
- Implement and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure application performance and uptime.
- Proactively address system incidents, troubleshoot issues, and escalate when necessary.
- Manage security configurations, monitor for vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with security best practices.
- Implement backups, disaster recovery plans, and failover mechanisms to ensure data integrity and system continuity.
4). Collaboration with Development and Operations
- Work closely with the development team to support the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the operations team to streamline release processes, test environments, and system stability.
- Provide guidance on infrastructure and tooling to support new HR system features or services.
5). Automation and Optimization
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization to reduce operational costs.
- Work on performance tuning, load balancing, and application scaling to meet user demand.
6). Database and Storage
- Manage database clusters (SQL/NoSQL) and ensure data redundancy, replication, and backup policies.
- Monitor database performance and ensure high availability of critical HR-related data.
7). Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR for handling employee data).
- Prepare and assist in audits by maintaining proper logs, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- MUST HAVE CODING SKILL BOTH FRONT END AND BACKEND
- Education
- : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven experience in managing infrastructure for SaaS applications, preferably HR or similar business-critical applications.
- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with hands-on expertise in scaling and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Solid knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Strong background in automation, scripting (Bash, Python, etc.), and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

- Configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

- Experience with securing cloud infrastructure, ensuring data encryption, and managing access controls.
- Understanding of compliance requirements, especially GDPR or other employee data protection laws.

- Strong communication skills for working across departments.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
- A proactive approach to managing infrastructure and anticipating potential issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing infrastructure for HR applications or related business-critical software.
- Understanding of HR systems and also our product, payroll, employee data management, and other HR-specific workflows.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data privacy in HR applications.
