About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Facility Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center facilities. In this role, you will lead a team of technicians, ensure the reliability and availability of critical infrastructure, manage maintenance activities and projects, and coordinate with vendors to maintain the highest operational standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise facility technicians in the operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center facilities on a 24/7 basis.
- Manage addition and alteration projects for new and existing customers.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors for maintenance, repair, and operational activities.
- Respond to facility emergencies and lead recovery efforts to restore service availability and meet SLA requirements.
- Develop, review, and improve operation and maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate vendor performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support ISO certification processes and participate in internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate records of facility assets, equipment, tools, and inventories.
- Ensure technicians comply with standard operating procedures (SOP), incident management, change management, and escalation procedures.
- Assist the reporting manager with facilities team administration and operational planning.
- Work on a rotating shift schedule (6 working days followed by 2 days off), including weekends and public holidays, with 8-hour shifts.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of 24/7 mission-critical facilities, preferably within data center or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience managing facility projects, contractors, and service vendors.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Willing to work on a rotating shift schedule.
