About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Head of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) to join our mining contracting operations in East Kalimantan. This full-time role will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategies to ensure the highest standards of workplace safety and environmental compliance across our mining sites.
- What you'll be doing
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's health, safety, and environmental management systems
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures
- Provide training and support to all employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices
- Ensure the company complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and legislation
- Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with operational teams to integrate HSE considerations into all business activities
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the HSE program
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in health, safety, and environmental management
- What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental management, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within the mining or resources sector
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive HSE management systems
- Strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change
- Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve HSE objectives
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex HSE challenges
