Reporting into senior leadership, the General Manager IT holds end-to-end accountability for the company's technology function. The mandate covers corporate systems and remote-site technology alike: setting the IT roadmap, running enterprise applications and infrastructure, hardening the cyber posture, and pushing the digitalisation agenda into mining operations themselves.

- Description
- Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute the enterprise technology roadmap, ensuring it tracks against commercial and operational priorities.
- Establish and enforce IT governance, policy and compliance standards across all locations.
- Own business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including site-level resilience.
- Enterprise Systems
- Direct the enterprise application portfolio, including the SAP/ERP landscape, corporate business systems and digital platforms.
- Ensure system integrity, data quality and integration across the application estate.
- Infrastructure & Security
- Oversee network, data centre, cloud services and end-user computing across corporate and remote environments.
- Lead the cybersecurity programme, including threat management, controls and incident response readiness.
- Digitalisation & Operational Technology
- Champion automation, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives that improve operational decision making.
- Extend technology capability into the operational domain - connected equipment, industrial systems and site-level data capture.
- Business Partnership
Work alongside Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Finance, HR and Procurement to identify and deliver technology solutions that lift safety, productivity and asset performance.
- Translate operational pain points into practical, deliverable technology outcomes.
- Commercial & People Leadership
- Own the IT budget, capital planning and technology investment cases.
- Manage strategic vendor and partner relationships, including negotiation and performance oversight.
- Build, coach and retain a capable technology team, with clear structure, capability planning and succession.
- Profile
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a comparable discipline; a postgraduate qualification is welcomed.
- Approximately 15-20 years in technology roles, with a minimum of 5 years at senior leadership level.
- Proven track record running enterprise IT within an asset-intensive sector - mining, heavy equipment, manufacturing, oil & gas or logistics.
- Depth across enterprise applications (SAP/ERP), infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and IT governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale transformation and technology change programmes.
- Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and communication capability at executive level.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to connect technology decisions to business results.
