About Maison Bali
Maison Bali is a fast-growing architecture, interior design and villa development studio based in Canggu. In less than a year, we have built a community of over 500,000 followers and delivered projects for villas, restaurants, beach clubs and hotels in Bali, Thailand, Africa and beyond.
Hospitality is now the core of our growth. We are designing boutique hotels, resorts and retreats in Bali, Lombok and the Nusa islands, as well as a beach hotel in East Africa, with more in the pipeline.
- We are looking for a Lead Architect who has already designed and built hotels, and who wants to lead these projects with us.
- What you will do
- Lead hotel, resort and retreat projects from site analysis and concept to construction
Turn a client brief and a business plan into a strong master plan: key count, room types, guest flow, F&B, wellness, back of house, staff areas and services
- Design with the site: topography, views, sun, wind, existing trees and local regulations
- Produce or supervise all drawing stages (concept, schematic design, design development, tender and construction drawings)
- Coordinate structural, MEP and landscape consultants, and make sure the design stays buildable and on budget
- Work closely with our interior design team so architecture and interiors tell one story
- Follow construction on site: answer contractor questions, check quality and solve problems quickly
- Manage permits (PBG/SLF) with local consultants and authorities
- Present to clients and investors with confidence
- Over time, build and lead a small architecture team (drafters and junior architects)
- What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (IAI/STRA is a plus)
- 5+ years of experience, including at least 1 or 2 hotel or resort projects you designed and saw built
- Strong design sense for tropical, natural and premium architecture (timber, stone, bamboo, open-air living)
- Solid technical knowledge: structure, MEP coordination, materials and construction methods in Indonesia
- Experience on sloped sites, coastal sites or islands is a strong plus
- Good command of AutoCAD and SketchUp. Revit, Rhino, Lumion, D5 or Enscape is a plus
- Good English (written and spoken), as most of our clients are international
- Leadership, organization and autonomy: able to run several projects at the same time
- Willing to travel for site visits (Nusa islands, Lombok and occasionally abroad)

- How we recruit
We start with a short exercise and an interview, followed by a paid trial mission on a real project. If it goes well on both sides, we move forward with a full-time position.
