• What you'll be doing
• Providing direct patient care and nursing support to patients admitted to general medical and surgical wards
• Assisting with patient assessments, monitoring vital signs and documenting clinical observations accurately and comprehensively
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring strict adherence to protocols and safety procedures
• Supporting patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility and nutrition
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualised patient care plans
• Responding promptly to patient needs and requests, providing compassionate and empathetic care
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations
• Educating patients and families about their condition, treatment plans and post-discharge care requirements
• Following infection control procedures and maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment
• Contributing to ward operations, including stock management and equipment maintenance
• Participating in continuing professional development and maintaining current clinical knowledge and skills
• What we're looking for
• A current, valid nursing qualification and registration with the relevant regulatory body
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a nurse in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably in general medical or surgical nursing
• Strong clinical knowledge and competence in patient care delivery, including patient assessment and monitoring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and healthcare professionals
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control and adherence to healthcare protocols and procedures
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care with a genuine desire to support patients through their healthcare journey
• Flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health records systems is advantageous
