- Key responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all building maintenance and repair activities to ensure facilities operate efficiently and safely
- Manage the building facilities team, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring of maintenance staff
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural elements to identify maintenance needs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency issues, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations
- Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards applicable to building operations
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of building systems and equipment
- Liaise with external contractors and vendors to coordinate specialised repairs and services
- Monitor and manage building utilities and costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Prepare reports on facility conditions, maintenance activities, and budget requirements for senior management
- What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of experience in building facilities management or building services engineering
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural maintenance
- Proven experience in supervising and managing maintenance teams and contractors
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements in building management
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving facility issues
- Competence in using maintenance management software and computer systems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in building services engineering or facility management (preferred)
