About the role
- PT Kaivalya is seeking an experienced
- Cafe and Restaurant Cook
- to join our culinary team in Ubud, Bali. This is a
- full-time position
based on-site at our establishment. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by preparing high-quality dishes that reflect our restaurant's commitment to excellence. Your expertise in food preparation, kitchen operations, and culinary techniques will be essential to maintaining our reputation as a premier destination for quality cuisine in Ubud.
- Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, plating standards, and quality specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared with attention to detail, maintaining consistency and presentation excellence
- Manage mise en place and maintain an organised, clean and efficient cooking station
- Monitor food quality, taste and temperature to ensure dishes meet our high standards before service
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak service times
- Follow all health and safety regulations, food handling procedures and hygiene standards
- Assist in food inventory management and report on stock levels to management
- Respond to special dietary requests and modifications with professionalism and creativity
- Support menu development and participate in tasting sessions as needed
- Maintain and care for kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly
- What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Cook in a professional cafe or restaurant environment for at least 2-3 years
- Strong culinary knowledge with proficiency in food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and kitchen sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, particularly during busy service periods
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistency and quality in every dish
- Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods whilst performing repetitive tasks
- Flexibility with shift patterns, including early starts, late finishes and weekend work
- Culinary qualifications or certifications from a recognised institution are advantageous
- Experience in Asian cuisine, fusion cooking, or cafe-style dishes is highly valued
