Job Purpose
The Tax Staff / Senior Tax Staff is responsible for ensuring the company's tax compliance by preparing, calculating, reporting, and filing taxes accurately and on time. This role supports tax planning, maintains compliance with Indonesian tax regulations, assists during tax audits, and works closely with internal departments to ensure accurate tax documentation and reporting.
- Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance
- Prepare, calculate, and submit monthly and annual tax reports in accordance with Indonesian tax regulations.
- Ensure timely filing and payment of all applicable taxes, including PPh and VAT (PPN).
- Monitor tax payment schedules to prevent penalties and late filings.
- Tax Reporting
- Prepare tax reconciliations between accounting records and tax reports.
- Maintain accurate tax working papers and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing annual corporate income tax (SPT Tahunan Badan).
- Tax Documentation
- Review invoices and supporting documents to ensure tax compliance.
- Prepare and validate tax invoices (Faktur Pajak) and withholding tax documentation.
- Organize and maintain tax records for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Tax Analysis & Advisory
- Identify tax risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support tax planning initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and communicate relevant updates internally.
- Audit & Government Relations
- Assist during tax audits, tax examinations, and tax office inquiries.
- Prepare supporting documents requested by tax authorities.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants when required.
- Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Procurement, and other departments regarding tax-related matters.
- Provide guidance on tax implications for business transactions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes from a tax perspective.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to tax processes and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable tax regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience handling corporate taxation.
- Experience in FMCG, Retail, Trading, or Manufacturing companies is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations (PPh, PPN, e-Faktur, e-Bupot, Coretax, and DJP systems).
- Familiar with tax reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Able to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
