(Facilities, Utilities/Boiler support, and Consumables). You will act as the key commercial bridge between Plant Engineering, Operations, and External Technical Partners to ensure high machine availability and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead procurement planning and budgeting for high-wear machinery spare parts, overhaul/turnaround projects, utility consumables, and indirect plant supplies.
Work closely with Maintenance, Electrical & Instrumentation, and Mechanical Engineering teams to review Engineering Drawings, P&ID, Technical Specifications, Scope of Work (SOW), and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Source, negotiate, and execute Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Master Services Agreements (MSAs) with specialized technical contractors, equipment OEMs, and indirect service providers.
Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles to evaluate engineering parts, rebuild services, and long-term maintenance contracts.
Oversee international sourcing and import routines for critical technical spare parts, specialized machinery components, and raw indirect materials.
- Manage import documentation, customs clearance compliance, and supplier lead-time reliability to prevent plant downtime.
- Mentor and evaluate the performance of MRO and Indirect Procurement Supervisors and Staff.
- Enforce strict adherence to internal audit controls, procurement ethics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial).
Minimum 5–7 years of technical procurement experience in a continuous process manufacturing plant (preferably paper, chemical, petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing).
- Minimum 2–3 years in a Supervisory or Assistant Management role leading technical/indirect procurement teams.
- Proven capability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings, P&ID, and technical specification sheets.
- Strong knowledge of MRO inventory classification, heavy machinery components, plant shutdown/overhaul scheduling, and contractor management.
- Direct experience in import purchasing processes, customs regulations, and international logistics for technical assets.
- Proficiency in SAP or major ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and cross-departmental coordination capabilities.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required for communicating with overseas suppliers and foreign technical advisors.
